How to use this manual
Before you troubleshoot, review the How to Troubleshoot.
■ Overview
If the input voltage from the mode control motor is more than specified value, the climate control unit determines an abnormality and stores the DTC.
■ Inspection Outline
The components to be tested are indicated by a dotted line.

Inspection Items
- a.External Circuit: MDD-P-DR, SENS-COM Open Wire Inspection (LHD model)
- a.External Circuit: MDD-P-R, SENS-COM Open Wire Inspection (RHD model)
- b.Mode Control Motor: Mode Control Motor Inspection
- c.Climate Control Unit: Climate Control Unit Inspection
a.MDD-P-DR, SENS-COM Open Wire Inspection (LHD model)
■ Test Procedure
- Preparation
Mode control motor 5P connector: disconnected
Climate control unit connector B (20P): disconnected - Procedure
Perform the inspection according to the following table.
■ Results
If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
a.MDD-P-R, SENS-COM Open Wire Inspection (RHD model)
■ Test Procedure
- Preparation
Mode control motor 5P connector: disconnected
Climate control unit connector B (20P): disconnected - Procedure
Perform the inspection according to the following table.
■ Results
If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
b.Mode Control Motor Inspection
NOTE:
Since there is no direct method to test the component itself, troubleshooting is performed on the related components.
■ Test Procedure
- Preparation
Mode control motor 5P connector: disconnected - Procedure
Perform the inspection according to the following table.
■ Results
If it is normal, there is a problem with the mode control motor.
If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.
c. Climate Control Unit Inspection
■ Test Procedure
- Preparation
Mode control motor 5P connector: disconnected - Procedure
Perform the inspection according to the following table.
■ Results
If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the climate control unit.
■ Confirmation Procedure
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
